Environmental Policy

HRTA recognises its obligations to customers, staff, the general public and other interested parties regarding minimising adverse environmental impacts resulting from its operations.

The company is committed to take all reasonable measures to reduce so far as reasonably practicable the impact of our operations, and of our plumbing and gas installations and repairs activities, on the environment.

HRTA is committed to continuously improving performance through an environmental management system based on planning, performance, monitoring and through review process.

Our Goals will be achieved by:

Establishing and maintaining an environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015;
Complying with the Environmental legislation and regulations which may apply, relevant Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards;
Developing and fostering a culture which recognises the innate importance of limiting the impact of our activities on the environment;
Provide a framework for achieving environmental objectives and targets;
Provision of resources, training, information and equipment so that our workers are aware of the impact of their assignments on the environment and, assume responsibility for implementing the company’s environmental policy;
Maintaining a continuous interest in matters of environment regarding all the company activities, in particular management commitment and consulting / involving our workers;
Maintenance of a self-monitoring audit program to ensure continuing compliance;
Utilize the services of environmental experts to assist in our activities when required;
Identify those of its operations with the potential to adversely impact on the environment and determine through planning and operational control to minimize the extent and severity of such impacts;
Demonstrating a commitment to the protection of the environment, including the prevention of pollution;

Establishing, implementing, and maintaining the processes needed for internal and external communications relevant to the environmental management system.

Through realization of these commitments and responsibilities the impact of our operations upon the environment will be minimized for future generations.
