The Slewing Mobile Crane Up To 100 Tonnes Licence Perth course provides operators with the practical skills and knowledge required to safely operate slewing mobile cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 100 tonnes. High Risk Training Academy delivers industry-focused training covering crane setup, safe lifting techniques, load charts and efficient lifting operations.

Designed for operators working across construction, civil, infrastructure and resource projects, the course prepares participants to operate large mobile cranes safely while meeting national high risk work licence requirements. Prerequisites & Course Requirements

Important note: While not mandatory, we strongly recommend that participants have prior crane operating experience ideally including a dogging license and a lower-level slewing crane license (e.g. C2 or C6).

The C1 course is intensive and assumes a solid understanding of crane operation principles. Refunds are not available for candidates who are assessed as not yet competent.

Persons must be 18 years of age or older
Photo ID must be presented i.e. current driver licence or passport
Basic numeracy skills
Basic English language and literacy skills

How Is the Course Delivered?

The TLILIC0021 course is delivered through face-to-face training, on site at your preferred suitable location, ensuring participants gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

The course is designed to be completed in up to four (4) days, Students will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical application skills.

What Will You Learn?

Pre-start inspections and crane setup:
Learn how to conduct pre-operational checks, identify faults, and set up slewing cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
Lift planning and hazard assessment:
Understand how to assess site conditions, manage environmental and operational risks, and prepare a lift plan based on load, boom configuration, and radius.
Load chart interpretation and capacity management:
Develop the skills to interpret rated capacity tables, calculate safe lifting limits, and adjust for load type, distance, and operating angles.
Slewing crane operation techniques:
Gain hands-on experience lifting, moving, and placing loads with a slewing mobile crane up to 100 tonnes in varied site conditions.
Communication and team coordination:
Use standard communication methods such as hand signals and radios to work effectively with doggers, riggers, and other personnel on site.
Shutdown and securing procedures:
Apply correct shutdown and post-operation procedures to secure crane equipment safely and ensure site compliance.
Emergency procedures and risk response:
Learn how to respond to equipment issues or unexpected load movements while maintaining control and minimising risk.

Course Structure and Assessment

Students will be assessed through a combination of practical demonstrations, scenario-based assessments, and written or verbal questioning.

Licensing and Certification

On successful completion of the Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 100 Tonnes), candidates will receive a Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0021 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 100 Tonnes) . High Risk Training Academy (HRTA), deliver and assess this course under a third-party agreement with AOTA RTO #91463.

Certificates are issued by AOTA Training after all documentation has been submitted and course fees paid. AOTA issue your certificate upon successful completion of your course, typically within 7-10 days.
