We offer flexible delivery options to suit both beginners and experienced operators:
2-Day Beginner Program – for participants with little to no prior experience.
1-Day Experienced Operator Program – for those with relevant experience seeking formal recognition of their skill
Training is conducted on-site at your workplace
Throughout the course, participants will learn how to:
Conduct pre-operational checks and equipment maintenance
Safely operate hydraulic excavators for various tasks
Excavate, trench, backfill, and load/unload materials
Read and interpret site plans and specifications
Identify and control workplace hazards
Apply safe lifting techniques using an excavator
Work to industry regulations, codes of practice, and safety standards
The course is delivered through a combination of theory-based learning and practical, hands-on training. Participants will be assessed on both knowledge and practical performance. Assessment methods may include:
Written or oral questions
Practical demonstrations of excavator operations
Workplace-simulated tasks
Observation of safe work practices

This training is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

High Risk Training Academy (HRTA), deliver and assess this course under a third-party agreement with AOTA RTO #91463.
Certificates are issued by AOTA Training after all documentation has been submitted and course fees paid. AOTA issue your certificate upon successful completion of your course, typically within 7-10 days.
