Course Overview

Licence to Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding (Basic Level)

Consisting of scaffolding work connected with the operation or use of modular or pre-fabricated scaffolds, cantilevered materials hoists with a maximum working load of 500kg, ropes and gin wheels, safety nets and static lines, and bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork) for licensing purposes.

Basic Scaffold covers erecting, altering, or dismantling a temporary structure to support a platform from which a person or object could fall more than four metres.

Participants who are successful in the completion of this training course will be at an advantage to secure a scaffolding role within the industrial, construction, mining, oil and gas sectors.

Prerequisites & Course Requirements

Persons must be 18 years of age or older
Photo ID must be presented i.e. current drivers licence or passport
Basic numeracy skills.
Basic English language and literacy
USI Number
Appropriate clothing (Hi Vis shirt, long pants, with steel cap boots)

How Is the Course Delivered?

The CPCCLSF2001 course is delivered through face-to-face training, on site at your preferred suitable location, ensuring participants gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

The course is designed to be completed in up to five (5) days, giving participants a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

What Will You Learn?

Planning the Task: Review instructions, gather and interpret safety and workplace information. Identify hazards, choose required scaffold equipment, tools, materials to minimise falling objects and establish communication methods.
Selecting and Inspecting Equipment: Check risk controls, fall protection, PPE is fit for purpose. Inspect scaffold and associated equipment for defects.
Setting Up the Task: Ensure Risk Controls and all safety measures are in place. Communicate plans and implement safety measures. Confirm task suitability with ground and structure assessments. Prepare footings to support scaffold and ensure ready for erection.
Undertake Basic Scaffolding Activities: Erect and dismantle scaffold and equipment. Erect and dismantle modular or pre-fabricated scaffold. Erect and dismantle cantilevered materials hoists. Apply methods for making temporary connections using fibre ropes. Erect, operate and dismantle gin wheels. Erect and dismantle safety nets and static lines.
Complete the task: Remove excess materials from work area. Inspect structures, plant, equipment and gear for defects, and isolate, tag out and report defective items. Store plant, equipment and gear in accordance with workplace requirements. Remove risk controls and safety measures and equipment.

Course Structure and Assessment

Students will be assessed through a combination of practical demonstrations, scenario-based assessments, and written or verbal questioning.

This comprehensive assessment process ensures participants are fully competent in all aspects of basic scaffolding before being awarded their qualification.

Licensing and Certification

Upon successful completion of this unit, participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for:

CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding (Basic Level)

The CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding (Basic Level) is available for $1,250

Please note:

The course fee covers both the Worksafe application fee and the HRTA administration fee.
HRTA will handle the Worksafe application process for you.

High Risk Training Academy (HRTA), deliver and assess this course under a third-party agreement with Harness Training RTO #40521.

Certificates are issued by Harness Training after all documentation has been submitted and course fees paid. Harness issue the certificate upon successful completion of the course, typically within 7-10 days.
